About NAXA: Natural Algae Astaxanthin Association

We were founded in 2014 as the Natural Algae Astaxanthin Association (NAXA). The foundation of NAXA is built around the promotion, protection, education and regulatory status of natural astaxanthin derived from Haematococcus pluvialis for use in food and dietary supplements.

Our Vision

To help industry and regulators understand that not all materials marketed as astaxanthin are the same, and the research and science that is currently referenced regarding astaxanthin is from the natural astaxanthin forms derived from Haematococcus pluvialis .

Our Mission

To support NAXA members who are committed to the production and research of natural astaxanthin derived from Haematococcus pluvialis,  while promoting health benefits, supporting public education and safety, and product quality and testing standards, while advancing government, healthcare and industry relations.

What We Do

NAXA is a member-driven organization. We have a board of directors comprised of members companies and have committees for Scientific Affairs, Marketing Communications and Regulatory Affairs. The association is responsible for NAXA’s mission and advancing the association’s goals to educate industry, consumers and regulators.

Code of Ethics

NAXA members commit to following Code of Ethics and Business Practices as a condition of membership in our organization. We have a defined process for investigating ethics violations by our members. Any member of the public may make an allegation against our members to our board, which will form a special task force to investigate the issue and determine any sanctions, if necessary.
